BACKGROUND
Started working in the airline industry in London with Alitalia
and the Saudi Arabian Airlines initially in passenger reservations
and the cargo at Heathrow. Emigrated to New Zealand and
worked for Air New Zealand Cargo for three years. Left Air
NZ and joined a major freight forwarder to set up their
operation in New Zealand. Stayed with this organisation
for 10 years and left to set up own freight company. During
this time started casual lecturing in freight for a private
training school and subsequently for Manukau Institute of
Technology Maritime School. Due to the diversity of positions
and companies worked for, I have an extensive background
in imports, exports, airfreight, seafreight, sales and marketing.
Joined the
NZ Maritime School in February 2002 as a full time lecturer
and am involved in delivering all IATA courses plus a variety
of subjects in the Diploma in Shipping and Freight.
