TOP MARITIME STUDENTS AWARDED INDUSTRY PRIZES

Two top graduates of the New Zealand Maritime School in Auckland received clear directions for their future with the award of special prizes from industry supporters this week.

Chris Bray and Lujing Wang, star pupils of the school’s Diploma in Shipping and Freight course of 2003, were given models of a ship’s steering wheel with a barometer inset, in recognition of their outstanding performances during last year.

Chris, now a logistics co-ordinator for CP Ships, received his prize from Pacific Forum Line for being “the person most likely to succeed in the industry”. Lujing, received her prize for P&O Nedlloyd for earning the highest aggregate mark on her course. She is now working in export documentation for Air CS Global.

Both winners will see their name inscribed on the Maritime School’s Honours Board, donated by the New Zealand Association of Shipping Agents.
